A lot can change in a year – our very own Dr Alex Davies can attest to that. When she decided to make a big decision regarding her career, she had already done all the research, had years of practical experience and was ready to take the plunge.
This year, despite the massive obstacle of Covid-19, she’s running her own business as Admire Dentistry’s principal dentist and has just been featured (on the front cover we might add!!) in BOQ’s Best Practice magazine. Make sure you click the link to read the full article – we’re so proud!
So, how did she get there you ask?
Through hard work, determination, and learning everything she can about dentistry from her former mentor, Dr Ed, Dr Alex was confident to open up her own practice. This is where she developed her skills in a range of dental procedures – from cosmetic, to emergency, general, preventative, and pediatric – all provided at Admire Dentistry, and her patient-focused outlook on the profession. Even to this day, Dr Alex makes it her mission to understand every patients’ needs and concerns for each treatment, whether it be simple teeth whitening or a more complex procedure, such as getting veneers.
Of course, these days, Alex has a number of highly qualified and passionate staff helping her build her dream of an eco-friendly and modern practice that uses new-age technology to treat patients with the highest quality of care. Already, Admire Dentistry can be seen as a local success story for the many repeating patients – and to this day, the clinic continues to grow.
With a strong focus on educating patients with up-to-date news and information, and embedding new pain-free technology whenever possible for ultimate patient comfort, Admire Dentistry has already developed a reputation for being a client-focused, modern clinic.
With oral disease being one of the most common and costly health conditions affecting Australians, according to the Australian Dental Association (ADA), getting the right dental healthcare is as important as ever – especially coming out of covid-related lockdown where many Australians have enjoyed more than the usual amount of sugary treats.
In fact, according to the ADA’s Oral Health Tracker, over 32% of adults are walking around with untreated tooth decay, a 6.6% increase from 2006, and around 29% have periodontal pockets (deep spaces around the teeth that can harbour bacteria leading to tooth loss), which is a 9% increase from the same year.
These trends stress how important preventative and proactive dental care is towards leading a healthy life and prolonging your natural teeth. At Admire Dentistry, we work to look after your teeth, ensuring they stand the test of time, and to help you reach any cosmetic goals you have in mind.
Admire Dentistry and Dr Alex welcome any new patient wanting to experience the Admire difference – make an appointment today through our online portal or contact us anytime to learn more about our services.
