Dr Alexandra Davies

Dr Alexandra Davies graduated from Griffith University with a Bachelor of Oral Health in Dental Science and a Graduate Diploma in Dentistry in 2014. Alex has a love for and excels in all fields of dentistry with a particular interest in Endodontics, Aesthetics, and Jaw Joint disorders.

Alex was born in Samford and went to school in the area. After graduating from Dental School, she returned and worked in Samford Village for several years until she decided it was time to venture out and start Admire Dentistry in Arana Hills. A couple of years later fate intervened with her dear friend Dr Richard Outridge offering her the opportunity to purchase his practice. Returning to the Village was a simple decision for her, and now she enjoys the best of both worlds nurturing a dedicated team across both beautiful communities. She is a firm believer in taking an integrated approach to health and endeavours to pass this on to her patients. Alex also values honesty and transparency when it comes to her patients’ treatment needs.

Farewell dear friend

One of a kind does not come close to describing Richard Outridge, fondly known as Dick by his Army mates. His quick wit and cheeky sense of humour were qualities we were all fond of. Even after he put down the tools, he was our favourite visitor. The team loved when he was around, there was a buzz within the practice and always laughter. At home he was a devoted husband and loving father and grandfather. Richard loved his home and his family, and often enjoyed a Sav Blanc or two on their deck overlooking the breathtaking views. We know he would be endlessly grateful to Mel for caring for him the way she did. It allowed him to stay home,

in the place he loved so much with the women he loved so much, until his last days. He was so proud of Mel and her passion for her artwork, and we know he’ll be watching over her and in awe of her future pieces.

His patients fondly remember him as gentle, caring and just the sweetest man. He had a loyal patient following of over 30 years from the Army to private practice in Strathpine, Albany Creek and Samford Village. A local through and through, it’s only fitting that his final practice was within the community he cherished. He had a calmness about him that soothed the most anxious of patients and a kindness that was felt throughout the practice. With Mel by his side there as nothing they couldn’t accomplish together, and the legacy they’ve left in Samford is a testament to that.

Mel would like to personally thank every single patient of the practice, you weren’t just patients, you became friends and family. Richard loved being a dentist and it was never a chore for him. He was one of the lucky ones who found a job he loved, and he never worked a day in his life. Dentistry and helping people were truly his passion, and you, his wonderful patients made that a reality for him. I hope you all know how special you were to him.

Please know that although Richard had been unwell, we never expected him to pass. His passing was sudden and a shock to those closest to him. Richard passed 3rd October 2023, and was farewelled at the Lake View Chapel, Albany Creek Crematorium on October 27th 2023.

Sarah Gollagher

Ferny Hills born and bred, Sarah’s passion for dentistry began during her orthodontic treatment in her teens. After graduating from Ferny Grove High, Sarah began working as a dental nurse and decided her true calling was as a dental hygienist. She graduated from the University of Queensland in 2006 and began her career working for the Department of Defence before moving into private practice in 2011.

Sarah’s focus is on prevention and education. Her goal is to empower her patients so that they can achieve and maintain the best possible oral health for life. Sarah is a caring and gentle hygienist whose aim is to make each visit an enjoyable experience.

In her free time Sarah can be found spending time with her two sons, hiking, attending a pilates class or exploring Brisbane and the surrounds looking for new restaurants to eat at or adventures to try.

Esther Ussher

Oral Health Therapist

Esther graduated from the University of Queensland in 2007 and has been working in private dental practices on Brisbane’s Northside ever since.

Esther loves working with people and helping them to achieve oral health through prevention and personalised care. She is fascinated by the oral-systemic link and truly believe oral health enhances overall well-being.

Esther aims to provide a comfortable and positive experience at every appointment and guides her patients with gentleness and care towards their own dental health goals.

Esther has 2 daughters and in her spare time she enjoys gardening, yoga, the beach and camping trips with her family and friends.

Dr Claire Luckman

Dr Claire Luckman graduated from The University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Dental Science in 2002. Over the years, Claire has built a strong foundation in general dentistry, with particular interests in sleep dentistry and managing dental anxiety. Known for a compassionate approach and exceptional patient care, she creates a calm and welcoming environment for all patients.

Claire is a Samford local, and after working in a range of practices over her career, she is excited to bring her knowledge to her local community. She strongly believes in the importance of personalised care and strives to build strong relationships with every patient, ensuring they feel heard and supported.

Outside of the clinic, Claire is a busy Mum of 3 and practices and instructs Aerial Circus Arts.

Fun fact – Claire used to work alongside our very own Dr Richard Outridge.

Dr Liz Kemp

Dentist

Dr Liz Kemp graduated from Griffith University in 2014. After graduation, she practised in Toowoomba for several years before relocating to Canada. During her time in Canada, she worked as a general dentist in Regina and Calgary. Whilst initially only intending to stay for a short time, Dr Liz and her husband fell in love with the mountain lifestyle of Canada and made Calgary their home for eight years. During this time, they also welcomed two boys into their family.

Dr Liz enjoys all aspects of general dentistry and helping people feel at ease at the dentist’s. She advocates minimal intervention dentistry with a strong focus on prevention and family dental health. From toothaches to long-term treatment plans, Dr Liz enjoys all aspects of general dentistry and finds joy in building long-term relationships with her patients and getting to know their families. She takes pride in taking the time to work with her patients to create treatment plans that work best for their unique circumstances and provide them with the highest level of care. She has a special interest in restorative and children’s dentistry, sleep medicine and composite bonding.

Outside of work, you’ll find her running, drinking too much coffee, travelling and chasing after her two busy boys. Whilst she will miss the Canadian snow, she is excited to call Brisbane home and explore all that South East Queensland has to offer.
